Very short day of classes today, only one class myself, some phone calls to students and then Megan, Chelsea and I were off with our coworker Isaac to the Yongjusa Temple just outside of Dongtan.

The temple was amazing, built in the 1700s by Prince Jeongju in tribute to his father Prince Sado who was killed by his Grandfather’s concubine in some crazy soap opera plot. The grounds were beautiful and probably even more so in the spring. While we were there they were having worship in the main temple building, but were unable to take photos. Chelsea picked up some nice jewelry for her niece Ashlyn at the gift store for Christmas and we all got some free flower tea at the museum, which I’ll admit wasn’t half bad.

After visiting the Temple we tried to go over to the burial grounds of Prince Jeongju and Sado but it had just closed. We plan on trying to go back at a later date.

Isaac then took use to this amazing Korean BBQ restaurant near Central Park. The pork belly was delicious. Finally Isaac took us for coffee, as most of you know I don’t drink, but everyone else did and I enjoyed some cheese cake.

Was a great day/evening and can’t thank Isaac enough for showing us the temple and taking us all out to dinner, now time for some rice wine, Budweiser and music. Can only put 10 photos per post so, scroll down for more.
